Jaggery Laddu in Winter

Bellam laddu belongs to the cooler months and to Sankranti, when jaggery is the sweet of the house. Serve it as it is. A drop of ghee on top is only if the laddu has dried at the edges. Do not melt it into payasam unless you mean to finish it that day.
Store it away from pickle fumes. Jaggery takes on whatever smell sits beside it.
