Tomato Pieces with Hot Rice

Tomato mukkalu pachadi is not a chutney. Serve the chunks beside hot rice and toor-dal pappu, with ghee on the rice. Press a piece into the rice with your fingers the way a Telugu lunch is eaten. Do not mash the jar.
It also sits well next to pulihora or a plain dosa. Keep the spoon dry. If you want it warmer, take a portion into a small bowl and let it stand near the hot rice. Do not heat the pickle in a pan.
